Pom Thaï Brings Ibiza Spirit to Courchevel 1850

Pom Thaï Brings Ibiza Spirit to Courchevel 1850

This winter, one of Ibiza’s most loved dining destinations makes its alpine debut. On Friday 19th December, acclaimed Thai restaurant Pom Thaï officially opened in Courchevel 1850, bringing its signature blend of authentic Thai flavours, artful ambience and wine-led hospitality to one of Europe’s most prestigious ski resorts.

After more than a decade building a cult following among Ibiza’s gastronomes, creatives and DJs, Pom Thaï’s move to the French Alps marks a natural next chapter for the brand, one that follows its loyal audience from sun-soaked summers to snow-covered slopes.

From Ibiza to the Alps

Founded in 2014 by lifelong food and wine enthusiast Johnny and Pom, the restaurant’s Thai head chef and master of traditional techniques, Pom Thaï has become known for its refined reinterpretation of ancient Thai recipes. The menu is celebrated for its depth of flavour, craftsmanship and balance, while the wine list, curated from small, artisanal producers, has become a defining part of the experience.

In Courchevel, Pom Thaï channels its unmistakable Ibiza energy into a mountain setting, while staying true to its core values: discreet, unpretentious and warmly welcoming. Designed with natural wood accents and carefully curated art pieces, the space offers a calm, stylish retreat ideal for a gourmet dinner after a day on the slopes, a relaxed evening with friends, or an intimate gathering in a cosy alpine setting.

A Menu Rooted in Tradition

The Courchevel menu presents a thoughtfully curated selection of dishes grounded in traditional Thai techniques and inspired by ancient recipes. With a strong emphasis on balance and flavour, the offering includes a wide range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Standout dishes include Mou Van, Suea Rong Hai, Lab Neux, Toung Tong, Pad Thaï, and a variety of aromatic curries. To finish, guests can enjoy comforting desserts such as Khao Niao Mamuang and Por Pia Chocolat, a sweet and satisfying finale to the experience.

Wine as Part of the Story

True to Pom Thaï’s heritage, wine plays a central role. Each bottle is selected from passionate winegrowers and chosen not just to pair with the food, but to bring a sense of terroir and storytelling to the table, enhancing the dining experience without overpowering it.

A Natural Evolution

Johnny explains:

“After more than ten years of welcoming guests to Pom Thaï in Ibiza, we know that many of them spend their winters on the slopes. Opening in Courchevel allows us to follow them to a place they love and introduce our cuisine to an entirely new audience. We’re thrilled to bring a different kind of energy to the resort: authentic Thai cooking, thoughtful wines and the warm, unpretentious hospitality that has always been at the heart of Pom Thaï.”

Blending flavour, craft and a strong sense of place, Pom Thaï’s Courchevel opening is set to become one of the resort’s most talked-about new arrivals this winter offering a fresh, soulful alternative to the traditional alpine dining scene.
