London PR and Digital agency Palm has been appointed to manage the public relations campaign for Apothecary (https://apothecaryeast.co.uk/) restaurant and bar, a unique Shoreditch venue housed in an old Victorian warehouse with a dedicated cocktail bar for late night revelries and a decadent dining room to enjoy Japanese inspired small plates.

Sultry lighting and secluded alcoves combine with an open fireplace and cosy banquette seating to make Apothecary the ideal Shoreditch destination for creative cocktails, convivial dinners, light lunches and weekend brunch.

Inspired by the drinks, flavours and relaxed vibe of modern Tokyo izakayas and traditional East London taverns, Apothecary is a unique blend.  Bespoke sapele wood screens in Apothecary’s dining room are influenced by the simplicity and elegance of traditional Japanese woodwork techniques and allow guests to connect with neighbouring tables, as well as the theatre of the open kitchen.

Apothecary Bar

The bar specialises in innovative cocktails, with a new Winter drinks list by Head Bartender Rui Lisboa (Happiness Forgets, Callooh Callay, Ace Hotel), who uses Asian ingredients to give classics an Apothecary twist and to create a unique selection of house serves.

Highlights include:

  • Zen Garden – Roku gin, green tea, shiso and lime
  • Found in Translation – a lower alcohol blend of sake, Lillet Rose, apricot oolong tea cordial and tonic
  • Apothecary Highball – Toki Japanese whisky, peach, elderflower, citrus stock and soda

Non-alcoholic options are also tempting, such as:

  • All Fun, No Guilt – Lyre’s American Malt, Aperitif Rosso and Italian Orange

The drinks list also showcases Japanese whiskies, sake (served both hot and cold), umeshu plum liqueur, wine and a selection of local and Japanese craft beers.

Apothecary Food

The all-day menu at Apothecary offers Japanese-inspired snacks and small plates, including signature dishes from the robata grill, tataki, tempura, sushi rolls and sashimi, as well as Hirata steamed bun sliders.

Dishes from the robata grill include:

  • Blackened Salmon
  • Sweet Potato with Spicy Tofu Sauce (vegan)
  • Teriyaki Chicken Thigh
  • Pork Belly Skewer

Other signature dishes include:

  • Grilled Cauliflower with Black Sesame
  • Salmon Den Miso Sushi Rolls
  • Truffle Miso Short Rib
  • Roasted Pepper Dragon Rolls (vegan)
  • Yellowtail Tiradito

Apothecary Brunch

Apothecary offers brunch from 12pm to 2pm on Saturdays and 12pm to 4pm on Sundays, with the option to upgrade with free-flowing Bubbles or Cocktails, including Head Bartender Rui’s take on the Bloody Mary made with a red wine reduction and ‘yuzu kosho’ chilli.

Guests start brunch with a complimentary arrival drink & snack and then choose from a selection of sharing sushi for the table, skewers from the robata, hirata buns and tempura or yakisoba noodles. To finish there is a choice of ice creams & sorbets, including Black Sesame or Miso Caramel ice cream.

Brunch at Apothecary is £30 per person, plus an optional £20 per person for free-flowing cocktails over the one-and-a-half-hour brunch session.

Private Dining

Apothecary has intimate, semi-exclusive spaces that offer different views of the venue. Guests can enjoy the buzz and ambience of Apothecary whilst at the same time having their own dining experience: perfect for group bookings, birthday parties or business meals with a difference.

For private dining, Apothecary’s subterranean private dining room accommodates up to 22 seated guests or up to 35 for standing receptions. The room has exposed brickwork, trailing plants and a vintage turntable.

Party menus start from £30 and dietary requirements can be accommodated.
