Share is a new inspirational cookbook from Women for Women International, which supports women survivors of war with resources to move from crisis and poverty into stability and self-sufficiency.

With a foreword from Meryl Streep, and recipes by celebrated chefs such as Alice Waters and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, as well as philanthropists such as Emma Thompson, Colin and Livia Firth, Dame Judi Dench, Annie Lennox and Mia Farrow.

The real stars of the book however, are those of the women who have reclaimed their voice through the scheme and have gone from being victims to active citizens in their communities: they share their recipes along with their stories.

Dishes range from traditional Afghani Flatbreads Stuffed with Falafel and Kosovan Sticky Doughnuts to Lamb Burgers with Mint and Beetroot, and Apple Tea with Cinnamon.

With stunning photography throughout this beautiful cookbook hopes to continue making a positive change through the power of food. 100 per cent of the royalties from the book will support farming and food training initiatives for the eight countries in which Women for Women International operate.

Since being founded by Zainab Salbi in 1993, WfWI has helped nearly 500,000 women across Afghanistan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan where war and conflict have devastated lives and communities. When women enrol in WfWI’s one-year programme, they receive financial and emotional support, education and job training, and access to business skills, capital and markets.
