We were thrilled to work alongside Sambazon, on their award entry for the 2018 Footprint Awards where they scooped the winner’s award for Social Impact and Diversity as a result of the outstanding sustainable initiative their business is modelled on.

Sambazon ( is the world’s leading producer of Açaí, the King of Amazon superfoods, and one of the purest, most nutritious botanicals on the planet. Sambazon is on a mission to bring real Açaí to the UK and establish it as a delicious health food staple.

The Footprint Awards represent the barometer for sustainability and responsible business practice in the foodservice sector and it was fantastic to see Sambazon win against some strong contenders.

The Social Impact and Diversity award in particular, seeks to reward social initiatives that have had a positive impact on the business, its community and stakeholders.

Sambazon stood out as a leader in this field as the brand operates under the ‘Triple Bottom Line’ philosophy, which measures success in three ways: economically, socially and environmentally. They have worked to build a vertically integrated business model that directly impacts the health and sustainability of indigenous communities and protects the biodiversity of the Amazon Rainforest.  Put simply, Sambazon superfoods are a simple and delicious way to have positive impact on the future.

Plus, in addition to streamlining their own Açaí production processes, Sambazon continue to head up the SAP (Sustainable Açaí Partnership) programme to affect positive change across all food producers benefiting from the Açaí harvest. In a rapidly changing landscape of consumer buying behaviour and growing demand for sustainable brands, Sambazon offers a product that not only tastes delicious and makes people feel great, but does genuine good for the planet.

We are extremely proud to work with a company that pioneers sustainability in every aspect of the business – a huge congratulations to Sambazon!
