Palm PR hosts a Mochi Making Master Class with Little Moons & Tsuki Mochi

In 2015, Palm PR was appointed to launch Little Moons & Tsuki Mochi, two innovative British brands that are bringing authentic Japanese mochi (with a contemporary twist) to the UK market. When launching a new concept to unfamiliar consumers, education is key and the same applies with the media.

To build a greater understanding of this unique product we arranged an interactive mochi making master class at Shackfuyu for our client, alongside Regis Cursan Head Patisserie Chef at Nobu

Made from pounded and sweetened rice flour, mochi is a delicacy in Japan where it has been eaten for over one thousand years and is now set to become an exciting new culinary trend in Britain. The method used to created mochi was demonstrated by Vivien Wong during the event.

Vivien Wong is the Co-Founder of both brands, which are hand made in London. Little Moons encases the finest gelato in hand rolled mochi and are available in six unique flavours, whilst artisan mochi truffles, Tsuki Mochi, are filled with a decadent dark chocolate ganache.

The event was well attended by key publications, including BBC Good Food Magazine, Woman Magazine, Press Association, Pride Magazine and OK Magazine, alongside blogs Skillet & Shutterbug and Tea Time In Wonderland. The media were able to handle the mochi, experiencing its unique texture and attempted to hand roll mochi themselves (we discovered that it is not as easy as Vivien makes it look!) as well as have that all important face time with the client.
